Student Services, Rate of pay: £17.93 per hour, Start: When required

Student Services provides a comprehensive and confidential support service for students, which includes advising in money, international, academic and disability issues, as well as offering personal and emotional advice via counselling and wellbeing services.

You will work as part of the Wellbeing Counselling, Mental Health and Team within Student Services to assist students who present with a range of issues relating to their student experience. You will do this primarily by making referrals, advising on University policy, supporting physical and mental health, signposting wellbeing activities, assessing the need for financial support, and recommending appropriate academic adjustments. You will co-ordinate appropriate support within the University.

An excellent communicator and qualified to degree level you will have experience of supporting young people in tertiary educations with a range of difficulties. You will be responsible for appropriately assessing, providing expert and professional advice and appropriately referring to colleagues internal and agencies external to Student Services. The ability to work flexibly and as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential.

An ability to remain calm under pressure, work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize work is vital. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, forward thinking service, working alongside highly qualified, experienced and motivated colleagues.
