School of History Salary: £33,797 per annum Start Date: 5 January 2022 Fixed Term: 12 months

The School of History seeks suitably qualified applicants with excellent command of spoken and written Italian and experience in the use of Oral History methodologies for the position of Research Fellow (full-time, fixed-term for one year).

The successful applicant will contribute to an AHRC-funded project led by Dr Nikolaos Papadogiannis on transnational sexual health activism and AIDS in Western Europe in the 1980s-1990s. The successful applicant will focus on the history of sexual health activists based in Italy in the 1980s-1990s.  

Applicants must hold a PhD in contemporary (20th-century) history of Italy, completed by the start date of the project (5 January 2022). Applicants should have experience of working or carrying out research in Italy as well as in the use of research methodologies and techniques relevant to work within the area, especially about the study of sexuality and/or activism in contemporary Italy.
