Web Developer - TG1082MR

The University of St Andrews is looking to appoint a web developer to join the digital communications team within Corporate Communications. The digital team is responsible for implementing front-end website developments and managing the University’s digital assets.

The Web Developer will play a vital role in ensuring that all aspects of the University’s digital sphere are working as designed, including the correct information and conforming to our corporate identity. This role will primarily focus on updating and maintaining our existing website, although there will be some availability to undertake development work on new website elements. You will work with internal customers and web editors to develop user-centred information architectures, interfaces and web applications for different parts of the institution.

The ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus and enjoy helping others solve their web related problems. They will have the necessary technical knowledge and skills to provide day-to-day management and support of the University's web services and to assist other members of the Digital Communications and IT Services teams on an ongoing basis. The Web Developer will also provide advice and support to internal customers on communicating and managing information via the web.

This post is fixed term for 2 years.

Further information and informal enquiries may be directed to Dr Stephen Evans, email: sde1@st-andrews.ac.uk.

The University is committed to equality for all, demonstrated through our working on diversity awards (ECU Athena SWAN/Race Charters; Carer Positive; LGBT Charter; and Stonewall).  More details can be found at http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/diversityawards/.

This role does not meet the minimum requirements set by the UKVI to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.  Further information can be found at https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/staff/policy/immigration/.

In 2019 the University will establish purpose built office accommodation at Eden Campus, Guardbridge by St Andrews, to provide a state of the art working environment for a number of our Professional Services Units. It is anticipated that up to 350 Professional Services staff from a range of Units will be based in the new development at Guardbridge.

This post may be primarily based at Guardbridge from 2019.
