Research Fellow in Medical Statistics - AR2367SB

We are seeking to recruit a well motivated post-doctoral Research Fellow in Medical Statistics using electronic medical record (EMR) data to join the dynamic and growing health data science team led by Professor Colin McCowan in the School of Medicine. The post is 12 months full-time, and funded by project grant funding from the CSO and MRC/NIHR.  The successful candidate will work with the existing research team to analyse data delivered from an NHS Safe Haven for two different projects.  The first project will examine Covid-19 within a community using data form a tracker app to identify people with a likely diagnosis who did not contact health care services.  The second project will explore the effect of multimorbidity in women during pregnancy on child and maternal outcomes.  Analysis of other datasets delivered from a Safe Haven for related projects may also be required.

You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, researchers, and computer scientists.  As a medical statistician, you will have a degree in a relevant discipline, and bring or be able to develop skills in data management, statistical analysis and reporting.

If you meet the requirements for this role, and want to apply your experience and knowledge to a rapidly expanding field in health data science, then please send informal enquiries to Professor Colin McCowan (cm434@st-andrews.ac.uk) and include ‘Research Fellow in Medical Statistics’ in the subject line of your email.
