Post-doctoral Research Fellow - AR3112LS

Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Dr Carmel McDougall (University of St Andrews) and Dr Tim Regan (The Roslin Institute) conducting research for a BBSRC funded project entitled ‘Allorecognition in molluscs and the evolution of transmissible cancers’.  The primary duties will be to conduct tissue culture and in-vivo experiments in bivalve species to investigate recognition responses, to conduct bioinformatic analyses to evaluate changes in gene expression and identify candidate allorecognition genes, to analyse data, and to publish the results.

The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in Biology with expertise in bioinformatics and molecular laboratory research. 

The post is available for 36 months starting as soon as possible (the start date must be prior to the 10th of August 2025).
