Research Fellow – AR2720NB

Applications are sought for a committed R&D Fellow to work with Paul Hibbert and Shiona Chillas conducting research for the AHRC funded InGAME project. The purpose of InGAME is to increase the scale and value of the Dundee videogames cluster. We achieve this by developing a responsive model of industry-academia R&D collaboration; de-risking creative experimentation and commercialisation; delivering organisational growth, diversification and innovation opportunities; disseminating novel learning, actionable insights and best practice; and demonstrating future applications of game tools, techniques and technologies.

This role sits within the School of Management at the University of St Andrews, with significant participation at InGAME’s Dundee HQ being intrinsic to the role. The post will be focused on research to evaluate and articulate InGAME’s processes, project and its outputs, and the nature and effect of its outcomes.

The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in Business and Management, Human Geography, Sustainable Development or other relevant social science discipline, with expertise in qualitative research methods and contributing to academic outputs.

The post is available for 12 months starting 1 September 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Further details of the InGAME project can be found at https://www.innovationforgames.com

Applications are particularly welcome from people from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community, and other protected characteristics who are under-represented in research posts at the University.

Equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of the St Andrews experience.  We strive to create a fair and inclusive culture demonstrated through our commitment to diversity awards (Athena Swan, Carer Positive, LGBT Charter, Race Charters and Stonewall). We celebrate diversity by promoting profiles of BAME, LGBTIQ+ staff and supporting networks including the Staff BAME Network; Staff with Disabilities Network; Staff LGBTIQ+ Network; and the Staff Parents & Carers Network.  Full details available online: https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/
