Staff Development Practitioner (General) – AD1078RUXMR

The Centre for Academic, Professional and Organisational Development at the University of St Andrews is offering a rare opportunity for an individual with the right skills and experience to join our team of learning and development practitioners, and to contribute to our continuing success in delivering high quality initiatives and in providing excellent development support to our colleagues across the University's professional services.

The appointment will be made on the basis of 0.5 FTE until September 2020 in the first instance, with work pattern to be agreed, ideally starting as soon as possible.

We are looking for a staff development professional, a skilled communicator with an enthusiasm for learning and development and with plenty of experience in leading the development of training programmes, identifying development needs, designing training to meet these needs, training delivery and evaluation. The ideal candidate will also be efficient and well-organised, with a systematic approach to planning and project management.

The role will encompass a wide variety of activities, including contributing to the coordination of mentoring and coaching programmes, and supporting wellbeing initiatives and organisational change programmes.

Candidates must have excellent IT skills, with experience of working with online learning and coordinating mentoring/coaching programmes an advantage. A qualification and experience in coaching would also be desirable.

In 2019 the University will establish purpose built office accommodation at Eden Campus, Guardbridge by St Andrews, to provide a state of the art working environment for a number of our Professional Services Units. It is anticipated that up to 350 Professional Services staff from a range of Units will be based in the new development at Guardbridge.

This post will be primarily based at Guardbridge from 2020.
