Senior Policy Fellow – AR3027NB

We are looking to appoint a Senior Policy Fellow at the Centre for Energy Ethics (CEE) within the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies at the University of St Andrews. 

 

Working closely with the Centre Director, Deputy Director, Centre Manager, Digital Communications Officer, Event Coordinator, Artist-in-Residence and the wider Research Team, the role holder will provide pro-active professional, and scholarly support on policy engagement and policy involvement on the topic of energy for CEE-affiliated researchers. The role affords substantial scope for creativity, originality, and collaboration. You will be responsible for CEE policy development and evaluation; milestone setting; building contacts, relations, and possibilities for collaborations; providing skills training in writing policy briefs and responses to Calls for Evidence; initiating and coordinating policy contributions; organising policy-focussed events; and applying for grant and other funding.

 

The role holder will have personal experience of contributing to policy making and be passionate about building greater capacity for policy engagement at the University. You will have excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills as well as great knowledge of and familiarity with virtual event platforms. You will be a strong team player with solid interpersonal skills, a self-starter who is able to plan, organise, and prioritise your workload in a busy and fast-paced environment.

 

In fulfilling the role, you will be expected to proactively liaise with students and staff across Schools and Units, as well as with external stakeholders, in particular policy makers and policy advisors in Scotland and the UK more broadly.

 

This is a full-time post, working 36.25 hours per week, offered on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This post will be primarily based in the School of Philosophical Anthropological & Film Studies, Department of Social Anthropology, North Street, St Andrews.

 

Please note, this post is not suitable for remote working, as a regular in-person presence will be required. Hybrid working may be possible and will be discussed at point of interview.
