We are seeking to appoint an Associate Lecturer
(Education Focused) in Environmental Earth Science for a fixed 1-year term, to
contribute to the teaching programme within the School of Earth and
Environmental Sciences. The School delivers two BSc Honours degrees (Geology
and Environmental Earth Sciences), an integrated undergraduate Masters in Earth
Science (MGeol), and two taught MSc programmes, one in Geochemistry and another
in Strategic Earth Resources.
Specifically, we seek a new colleague who can
deliver undergraduate training in a range of undergraduate modules including Atmospheric
Chemistry, Global Biogeochemical Cycling and contemporary issues of global
carbon budgets and reduction. The successful candidate may also be asked to
contribute to the delivery of some other aspects of teaching across our
undergraduate programme including Atmospheric Pollution and Air Quality, Meteorology,
and greenhouse gas fluxes from terrestrial environments.
The school is noted for its field-based training
therefore the appointee will be actively involved in this aspect of degree
delivery. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Earth and
Environmental Science or a cognate discipline and have experience in teaching undergraduate
students.
