Two Associate Lecturers (Education Focused) in Philosophy – AO1617MR

We wish to appoint to two Associate Lectureships (Education Focused) within the Department of Philosophy (School of Philosophy, Social Anthropology and Film), each for a fixed-term contract for 12 months, commencing 1st September 2020.

The main purpose of the posts is to provide undergraduate and Mlitt teaching at all levels, including supervision of undergraduate and Mlitt dissertations. The post-holders will give lectures and seminars, coordinate modules, and carry out other standard administrative tasks as required.

Specifically Post A will contribute to teaching the second year module Ancient Philosophy (PY2011) and the first year module Early Modern/Enlightenment (PY1013).

Post B will contribute to a range of ethics modules including the first-year module PY1011, the third-year module PY3200, and the ethics element of the evening degree. Informal enquiries are welcome. Qualifications. Candidates must hold a PhD in philosophy, or have submitted their PhD by the appointment start date. You will have a strong research record together with excellent teaching and administrative skills. In addition, you will have the specialised knowledge relevant to teaching the modules in the history of philosophy and/or ethics named above.
