Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Environmental Earth Science – AO1792NB

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Environmental Earth Science for a fixed 1-year term, to contribute to the teaching programme within the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences. The School delivers two BSc Honours degrees (Geology and Environmental Earth Sciences), an integrated undergraduate Masters in Earth Science (MGeol), and two taught MSc programmes, one in Geochemistry and another in Strategic Earth Resources.  

 

Specifically, we seek a new colleague who can deliver undergraduate classroom and field training in Biogeochemistry. The successful candidate will also be asked to contribute to the delivery of some other aspects of teaching across our undergraduate Programme including areas such as Weathering, Contaminant Issues (including remediation), Atmospheric Carbon Reduction and Hydrology/Hydrogeology (in the context of contaminant transport and remediation).  

 

The school is noted for its field-based training therefore the appointee will be actively involved in this aspect of degree delivery. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Earth and Environmental Science or a cognate discipline and have experience in teaching undergraduate students.
