The International Education Institute (IE) at University of St Andrews is recruiting for a tutor of Gaelic for our Evening Language programmes. There is a possibility to teach online or in person.
Evening Languages offers a range of languages and the student cohort is drawn from undergraduates and postgraduates at the University, staff members and the general public.
We are seeking practitioners who enjoy taking on new challenges, and who have a strong commitment to both their own and colleagues’ professional development.
This is a part-time post (0.2 FTE), on a fixed term contract for 2 years. The intended start date for this position is 1 September 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter.
IE has developed a reputation within the UK and beyond as a centre of excellence for EAP (English for Academic Purposes) teaching, and we host an annual conference of international standing dedicated to this area of practice. Our dynamic and experienced teaching team, which includes recent recipients of McCall MacBain and University of St Andrews Teaching Excellence Awards, are involved in a wide range of educational activities, and we have a strong culture of professional development. While this is a teaching-focused post, scholarly activity relevant to learning and teaching is supported financially and factored into workload modelling, and the post-holder will also have access to the University’s academic promotions process.
Evening Languages has been a distinct but valuable part of the portfolio of courses offered for the last four years.
