Research Fellow – AR2177MR

Applications are invited for three Research Fellow positions, in the area of social evolution theory, based in Prof Andy Gardner’s research group at the University of St Andrews, Scotland.

The successful applicants will develop (i) theory on kin selection and group selection, (ii) new analytical and computational approaches to social adaptation, and (iii) mathematical models of intragenomic conflict. The project is very flexible and will be tailored to the skills, experience and interests of the assembled team.

Applicants should have a PhD in evolutionary biology or other relevant discipline, and should have postgraduate and/or postdoctoral experience in developing evolutionary theory.

The positions are available from 1 May 2019 (start date is very flexible) until 30 April 2023.

Applications are particularly welcome from women who are under-represented in Science posts at the University.

The University is committed to equality for all, demonstrated through our working on diversity awards (ECU Athena SWAN/Race Charters; Carer Positive; LGBT Charter; and Stonewall). More details can be found at http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/diversityawards/.
