Research Fellow – AR2912NK

Applications are sought for a committed and dynamic Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work at the ESRC Centre for Population Change & Connecting Generations (CPC-CG). The CPC-CG partnership brings together researchers from the Universities of Southampton, St Andrews, Stirling, Oxford, and the Resolution Foundation to understand how different generations provide support to each other across the different stages of their lives. The Post-doctoral Research Fellow will work on the topic of Connecting Generations across Geography. They will investigate the geographical distance between adult children and their parents and will project family networks using simulation methods.  

 

The successful applicant will have a PhD in a social or environmental science discipline (including statistics, computer science and applied mathematics) or should be close to submitting their PhD thesis. They should have experience in handling longitudinal and spatial data and conducting microsimulation. Good communication and management skills are essential.    

 

The post is available for 24 months starting 1st February 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
