Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Geoscience and GIS – AO1771NB

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Geoscience and GIS to contribute to the teaching programme within the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences.  

 

The School delivers two BSc Honours degrees (Geology and Environmental Earth Sciences), an integrated undergraduate Masters in Earth Science (MGeol), and two taught MSc programmes, one in Geochemistry and another in Mineral Resources. Specifically, we seek a new colleague who can deliver undergraduate training in Geographical Information Systems and digital mapping. The successful candidate may also be asked to contribute to the delivery of our applied geophysics, ore petrogenesis, resource exploration and/or structural geology modules and experience in some or all these fields is desirable.  

 

The school is noted for its field-based training therefore the appointee will be actively involved in this aspect of degree delivery. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Geology or a similar discipline and have experience in teaching undergraduate students.  

 

This is a full time position on a fixed term contract of 2 years, in the first instance.
