ScotCHEM is a federation of Scotland’s university chemistry departments. We pool and enhance resources for chemistry research and research training in Scotland. We bring together seven universities and other major players in the chemical sciences. ScotCHEM generates enhanced critical mass, spurs collaboration, and enables wider access to major facilities.

We seek a new Director of Training and Pooling (DTP) to direct and manage the day-to-day activities of ScotCHEM. They will work with the Chief Executive to set strategic direction and execute projects.  The appointee will become the main hub for the ScotCHEM research pool and will be a member of the ScotCHEM Board. The DTP leads shared postgraduate training activities across our seven members.

The DTP leads and coordinates activities to:

•     Secure Scotland’s’ position as a go-to place for world-leading chemistry.
•     Provide an excellent environment for graduate training.
•     Enhance collaboration with industry.
•     Increase the critical mass of the Scottish chemical sector.

Candidates should have a first degree in science or engineering and experience of chemical research in academia or industry.
