Scotland’s oldest university is seeking to appoint a dynamic individual to join the finance senior management team at the beginning of an exciting and ambitious 5-year strategy for growth and improvement. As the Head of Financial Reporting you will provide leadership and guidance for all aspects of corporate financial reporting & compliance across the University; coordinating relationships with a range of external partners including external auditors and other relevant bodies. You will have management responsibility for two teams of professional staff covering Financial Accounts and Operations. Finance provides critical advice to both academic and professional service units and you will be expected to liaise with a wide range of management to ensure that consistent and effective financial systems are in place across the whole of the University.

Educated to degree level and possessing a professional accounting qualification you will be an experienced financial controller with considerable management experience of equivalent financial operations gained in large and complex organisations. A proven innovator you will also have a track record of delivering systems and reporting efficiencies whilst maintaining data quality and control in complex and divisional environments. Attention to detail, quality and governance are of paramount importance and you will also possess highly developed interpersonal & communication skills and be able to command the respect of stakeholders at all levels.
