Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography (with Remote Sensing) – AC2142NB

The School of Geography and Sustainable Development is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography with specialization in Remote Sensing. We are looking for candidates with excellent research profiles and enthusiasm for research-led teaching to join our Environmental Change Research Group. Candidates with backgrounds in Geography and cognate disciplines are welcome to apply.  


The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Physical Geography, Remote Sensing, or a related area, and have specialist research interests and teaching expertise in Remote Sensing. They will demonstrate expertise in Remote Sensing and related in-depth knowledge of relevant techniques, software and programming. Their research will encompass Physical Geography and/or environmental topics. They will be active in research publication that strengthens and helps shape the School’s evolving strategic aims, and be capable of teaching undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds, and nurturing early career researchers. They will have proven success with grant seeking from research councils and/or other national or international sources. 


*Appointment at Grade 8 Senior Lecturer level (salary range: £54,949 - £61,823 per annum) will be considered for candidates with more experience/knowledge of the area, with the job description to be amended accordingly.
