Research Fellow in Optical Trapping – AR2300MR
Applications are invited for Research Fellows to work on an EPSRC-funded project. The work is based within the Optical Manipulation Group in the School of Physics and Astronomy (https://opticalmanipulationgroup.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk). The group aims to build upon a range of internationally recognized work in the area of photonics and its applications at St Andrews. The specific topic area of this post is optical trapping with particular emphasis on novel trapping materials and optical trapping in vacuum.
We are particularly interested in researchers with prior experience in one or more of: optical trapping; cavity optomechanics; advanced microscopy and imaging. The post is for one year in the first instance but with scope for extension.
The post-holder will be required to undertake both experimental work and numerical studies.
