Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Professor Rita Tojeiro conducting research for an STFC-funded project entitled “The impact of structure formation on the evolution of galaxies using DESI”. The primary duties will include modelling the galaxy-halo connection in the context of galaxy environment and the cosmic web using DESI data. There is also the opportunity to contribute to the preparation for DESI-II.
The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in astronomy with expertise in the galaxy-halo connection from a theoretical or observational perspectives and will have experience in the analysis and/or planning of large spectroscopic redshift surveys.
The post is available for 36 months starting 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
