Research Fellow (Molecular Biology/Bioinformatics) - AR2021SB

Applications are invited for a Research Fellowship on an EU-funded project investigating the genetics of selective breeding in finfish and shellfish within the School of Biology based at the Gatty Marine Laboratory. The post is available from January 2018 for 7 months.

You should have a relevant first degree and PhD in biological science together with competence in molecular biology (DNA extraction, qPCR, Next Generation Sequencing) and/or bioinformatics skills including familiarity with common bioinformatics workflows for next-generation sequencing data (e.g. assembly, read mapping, and variant calling) and programs (e.g. BWA/Bowtie2, samtools, FreeBayes/GATK). Applicants with an MSc and substantial research experience may also be considered.
