Medicine Salary: £43,414 - £53,353 per annum Start Date: As soon as possible

The School of Medicine wishes to appoint a non-clinical Lecturer (Education Focused) in Pathophysiology and the Molecular Mechanisms of Disease to provide high quality clinically contextualised teaching and assessment. The successful candidate will be capable of teaching across the range of undergraduate medical programmes offered within the School. Applications are encouraged from candidates with relevant undergraduate and PhD experience within a biomedical or related field, particularly those with experience in relating fundamental research to patient-related outcomes, those with experience in histopathology and/or those with experience in infectious diseases.  


The successful applicant will be confident in bridging the gaps between first principles and the impact on disease in patients across multiple organ systems, as well as being able or willing to relate this to clinical care and treatment by close working with clinicians and other colleagues. They will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and deliver high quality teaching and be flexible in the mode of delivery (e.g. lectures, case-based, practicals, self-guided, as well as both synchronous and asynchronous teaching across digital platforms). They will be able to develop appropriate assessments and supervise undergraduate dissertation students related to their areas of expertise. Experience in administrative management and/or academic development of modules, courses or programmes is also desirable.  


This post is part of the Education Division within the School of Medicine and candidates will be encouraged to use a proportion of time (up to 15%) to pursue education research or related activity.
