Music Centre/Scottish Chamber Orchestra Graduate Trainee - CG1371SB

The Music Centre and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra seek a Graduate Trainee from August 2022 until April 2023. The Graduate Trainee will report jointly to the University Music Centre’s Head of Programming and to the SCO’s Creative Learning Director and will work on a range of projects with both organisations, with particular emphasis on developing projects in St Andrews associated with the SCO’s ongoing and highly successful residency at the University and on outreach and public engagement projects from within the Creative Learning Department at the SCO.

This Graduate Traineeship is a challenging yet rewarding role, as it will provide a real opportunity to enrich the lives of people through music, and to shape the direction of the SCO Orchestra in Residence programme at the University of St Andrews. It also provides substantial opportunities for training and personal development.

This is an opportunity intended for recent graduates of the University of St Andrews. Applications will be considered from anyone who has completed an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at the University in 2020 or 2021 or is due to complete one by June 2022. If you have any queries about your eligibility for this post, you are welcome to contact the Head of Programming, Chris Bragg – email cjb30@st-andrews.ac.uk.

This post is fixed term for 36 weeks.

Applications are particularly welcome from people from the Black, Asian, Minority or Ethnic (BAME) community and other protected characteristics who are under-represented in professional services posts at the University.

Equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of the St Andrews experience.  We strive to create a fair and inclusive culture demonstrated through our commitment to diversity awards (Athena Swan, Carer Positive, LGBT Charter, Race Charters and Stonewall). We celebrate diversity by promoting profiles of BAME, LGBTIQ+ staff and supporting networks including the Staff BAME Network; Staff with Disabilities Network; Staff LGBTIQ+ Network; and the Staff Parents & Carers Network.  Full details available online: https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/.
