Sustainable Travel Worker - CG1544SB

The Sustainable Travel Worker has a key role to play in encouraging a shift to sustainable travel for University Staff, Students, and local residents of St Andrews through the delivery of an exciting range of projects aimed at enabling and facilitating sustainable travel. Based within the Transition University of St Andrews team, the post will look to increase people’s knowledge of sustainable travel choices through online and face to face promotions whilst facilitating uptake. It will manage websites and social media to engage people whilst developing print media for public events and face-to-face marketing. Key themes that the post holder will promote include walking, cycling, car sharing and public transport. This includes running practical sessions such as leading a ride or health walk. They will manage and support volunteers that are working on bike maintenance, cycle training and cycle training whilst planning their training and development in order to best meet the needs of the project. 

 

The post holder will undertake monitoring and evaluation of the programme as required by the programme funder. The role will be supported by the Transition Manager and is funded by Paths for All Community Project Transition Fund.

 

The worker will also be required to work as part of a flexible and supportive team to help fulfil the overall objective of Transition UStA.

 

The working hours for this post are 21.75 per week (0.6 FTE).
