Ecological Project Manager – AD2283NB

The Ecological Project Manager post will lead on the delivery of a Biodiversity Challenge Fund project - Creating Urban Meadows for Pollinators’ in and around St Andrews. The project will create a network of species rich grassland and woodland areas along a green corridor running from St Andrews to Guardbridge, Fife. This transformation of large areas of parks, open spaces and shared paths will be accompanied with community engagement and practical conservation volunteering opportunities to ensure the communities using these spaces are connected to the space and understand the value and process for maintaining these habitats.

Working in Partnership with the St Andrews Botanic Garden, Fife Council and the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, the project will aim to utilise the current momentum in Fife for changing grassland to create over 8 hectares of species rich meadow, 2500m of hedging and 0.7ha of woodland. It will aim to demonstrate best practice in managing amenity grassland for biodiversity for Fife creating pollinator rich grassland sites from “improved grassland” and communicating with the public to ensure their buy-in.
