Turing scheme co-ordinator – CG1395SB

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a collegiate, outward looking and globally minded individual, with experience of international customer service and financial operations to join a dynamic and welcoming team in the Global Office as a Turing scheme co-ordinator.  

 

In a critical position within the Global Office’s operations to support student mobility, the Turing scheme co-ordinator will work collaboratively across the team to provide planning, co-ordination, and administrative services to ensure the success of the university’s Turing scheme activities.  

 

The Turing scheme provides funding to a range of student mobility activities in our portfolio of study and work abroad programmes which are integral to degree pathways, as well as supporting a variety of short-term and flexible options.  

 

The successful candidate will work with colleagues to plan for future activities, work on institutional applications for scheme funding and liaise internally and externally on related matters. They will run the operations of the scheme, providing grant documentation and awards to students, and administering scheme documentation in line with Turing requirements, liaising regularly with the Turing scheme national agency on compliance and regular activities. They will also submit regular reports and project updates to the scheme, using a national online system to interact with the agency and will manage the final audit and report submission process.  

 

The role holder will interact with key colleagues in the Global Office, working in a matrix management fashion at need, and will liaise across the institution with colleagues in Finance, Registry, Scholarships as well as with the Turing scheme agency and our external auditors for the programme.  

 

The successful candidate will be able proactively to plan and to manage a range of requirements throughout the cycle and will bring an organised working methodology and a willingness to engage widely and work collaboratively with a view to ensuring institutional strategic activities and student placements are effectively supported through the scheme.

This post will/may be primarily based at the Bute Building, St Mary’s Quad in St Andrews. The Global Office works in a hybrid fashion typically with three in-office days per week, and two working from home.
