Education Liaison Officer - AD2024HM

The main purpose of this role is to develop and deliver recruitment, admissions and outreach activities as relating to the Admissions unit operational plan and specifically in lines with admissions focused priority projects and recruitment domestically and overseas.

Key Duties and Attributes

  • Co-ordinate and oversee the delivery of admissions projects.
  • Take a lead role in the delivery of designated projects and operational activities and report to the senior management within the team. The candidate will be expected to take initiative and demonstrate the ability to solve problems before they start.
  • Provide information and guidance on admissions and access to the University of St Andrews through organising a range of relevant activities to targeted audiences.
  • Have input into the creation of promotional materials such as web pages and booklets.
  • Update relevant information concerning admissions i.e. academic qualifications.
  • Lead on the recruitment and allocation of recruitment related work.
  • Respond to project enquiries by phone, email and in person.
  • Plan and assist with the organisation of recruitment events both online (CRM) and in-country (at home and abroad). The candidate will be expected to demonstrate effective communication and time management skills.
  • Take decisions in consultation with the senior management relating to delivery of services
  • Co-ordinate information events on and off site.
  • Planning, organising, developing and ensuring the effective delivery of flexible learning programmes.
  • Co-ordinate activities relating to recruitment, selection, admission and induction of students
  • Explore the use of information technology and implement where appropriate.
  • Address complex and mundane tasks with attention to detail and skill.
  • Administration in order to maintain data and records, to track progress and create annual reports.
  • Undergraduate Degree or Equivalent
  • High organisational skills and enjoy being organised
  • Must have excellent written communication skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) and open to new technologies.
  • A good level of competency in statistical analysis
The post holder will be expected to work outside normal office working hours including some weekend work. An enhanced PVG check will be required also.

In 2019 the University will establish purpose built office accommodation at Eden Campus, Guardbridge by St Andrews, to provide a state of the art working environment for a number of our Professional Services Units. It is anticipated that up to 350 Professional Services staff from a range of Units will be based in the new development at Guardbridge.

This post may be primarily based at the Eden Campus at Guardbridge.
