Web Developer - TG1263SB

The University of St Andrews is seeking to appoint a Web Developer to join the Digital Communications team within IT Services.

You will be an experienced web developer with the technical knowledge and skills to develop information architectures, visual designs and user interfaces for the University’s digital pattern library. The library is used to support websites and web applications that ensure University information is effectively communicated to all audiences.

You will also have the interpersonal skills to provide advice, support and, where appropriate, training to internal customers on technologies and information structures for communicating and managing information via the web.

This will include the provision of extensive knowledge and expertise on a wide range of web-based technologies, together with a well-developed understanding of wider University issues. Reporting to the Digital Communications team leader, the post is key to ensuring the University website is standardised, simplified and consolidated to increase efficiency and improve user experience.

First-rate customer focus, initiative, good planning, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are also important. Experience working within a Higher Education environment would be an advantage.

Further information and informal enquiries may be directed to Stephen Evans, email: sde1@st-andrews.ac.uk Tel: 01334 462540.

Before an appointment can be confirmed, you will be subject to a Criminal Records check.

Applications are particularly welcome from women, people from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community, and other protected characteristics who are under-represented in IT posts at the University.

Equality, diversity, and inclusion are at the heart of the St Andrews experience.  We strive to create a fair and inclusive culture demonstrated through our commitment to diversity awards (Athena Swan, Carer Positive, LGBT Charter, Race Charters and Stonewall). We celebrate diversity by promoting profiles of BAME, LGBTIQ+ staff and supporting networks including the Staff BAME Network; Staff with Disabilities Network; Staff LGBTIQ+ Network; and the Staff Parents & Carers Network.  Full details available online: https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/.

This post will be primarily based at the Eden Campus at Guardbridge, a state-of-the-art working environment for professional services units.
