The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences invites applications for a Lectureship-level appointment from individuals who utilise field-based and/or computational approaches to address fundamental questions about the processes that form, concentrate and modify Earth’s natural resources. We particularly welcome applicants with broad applied skills in the tectonic, geophysical, igneous, metamorphic or sedimentary processes that form economically valuable resources, and/or in the application of field, geochemical, remote sensing, GIS and/or 3D-modelling methods to detect and characterise them.
The successful candidate will complement vibrant research groups in Economic Geology & Energy, Solid Earth & Planetary Science, Global Change, Geobiology & Earth System Evolution and Earth Surface Processes and will develop an externally funded, innovative and impactful research programme. They will contribute skills-transferable and research-led teaching to several degree programmes, including coordination of a taught MSc level degree.
Candidates should hold a PhD in a cognate discipline. Excellent teaching skills and an interest in promoting knowledge exchange are essential, as is familiarity with grant seeking processes from research councils and industry sources.
