Applications are invited for an Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Middle Eastern and Islamic History focused on the period c. 600-1700, tenable from 1 September 2019 for a period of one year. This post is intended as a temporary teaching replacement for Professor Andrew Peacock who will be on externally funded research leave. The successful candidate will be required to teach the following Honours (third/fourth year) course: ME3613 Arabs, Persians and Turks in the Early Islamic East in the Age of the Caliphates (600-1200). They will also be expected to contribute to lectures and tutorials of the group-taught sub-honours (second year) module MH2002 Introduction to Middle Eastern and Islamic History. The successful candidate will also be required to contribute to the teaching of other sub-honours modules (either ME1003 The Fall of Rome and the Origins of Europe; or ME2003 Medieval Europe, 11th-15th C), and the MLitts in Middle Eastern and Iranian Studies.
