Research Fellow in Advanced Optical Imaging – AR2299MR

Applications are invited for Research Fellows to work on an EPSRC-funded project. The work is based within the Optical Manipulation Group in the School of Physics and Astronomy (https://opticalmanipulationgroup.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk). The group aims to build upon a range of internationally recognized work in the area of photonics and its applications at St Andrews. The specific topic area of this post is advanced optical imaging in biophotonics.

We are particularly interested in researchers with prior experience in one or more of: multiphoton imaging; light sheet imaging; the development and application of numerical methods of deep learning or multivariate analysis. The post is for one year in the first instance but with scope for extension.

The post-holder will be required to undertake both experimental work and numerical studies. They will play a leading role in implementing new optical imaging geometries, and studies with beam shaping. The imaging will be conducted with a range of biological samples.

Start Date: As soon as possible.
