Research Fellow – AR2513MR

The School of Physics and Astronomy advertises a Research Fellow position in experimental photonics dedicated to the development of flexible holographic metasurfaces for anticounterfeiting applications for secure documents. The applicant should have research experience in the design and/or fabrication and experimental characterization of holographic devices, preferably in the visible range, supported by a good publication record. Knowledge of metasurface design and fabrication is desirable. The position is supported by an external research partner and is for two years.

It is a condition of the external funder that the applicant must be resident and have the right to work in the UK. The position will be awarded pending a positive outcome of an official UK Government security vetting process.

Informal enquiries can be directed to Prof Andrea Di Falco, email adf10@st-andrews.ac.uk or Tel: 01334 463165.

Applications are particularly welcome from those with a willingness to commit to the School and University's aspirations towards equality, diversity and inclusivity. The School has Juno Champion status, which recognises physics departments who take action to embed better working practices for all staff and address the under-representation of women in UK and Irish universities. For more information, including case studies, please see www.st-andrews.ac.uk/physics/equalityanddiversity/.

The University is committed to equality for all, demonstrated through our working on diversity awards (ECU Athena SWAN/Race Charters; Carer Positive; LGBT Charter; and Stonewall). More details can be found at http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/diversityawards/.
