Temporary Lecturer in Philosophy - AC2283NB

We wish to appoint a two year, fixed term Lecturer in Philosophy within the Department of Philosophy, which forms part of the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies. The successful candidate will teach Contemporary Epistemology and Philosophy of Language to an advanced level, and must therefore be able to demonstrate expertise in these areas. They must also be able to contribute to other core teaching, and to research interaction within the department.  

The successful candidate will be a scholar with a strong, developing research profile and a commitment to delivering high quality teaching within philosophy. The successful candidate will be expected to have a range of interests, to be active in research publications that strengthen or complement those in the department and to be capable of teaching the subject to undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds.  

Candidates will hold a doctorate in philosophy at the time of appointment and will be expected to show a commitment to outstanding teaching at all levels, from first-year undergraduate teaching to supervision of master’s degree dissertations.
